Leave the city behind this Halloween

This Halloween the Ballyhoura Forest is offering a truly authentic Halloween experience.

With its rolling landscape of forested hills and rushing rivers, the area between Cork and Limerick is one of Ireland most beautiful and the organizers of the Ballyhoura Spook plan to harness the unique ambience of this wooded wonderland to provide a packed day of spooky thrills for the entire family with plenty of tales, ghosts and ghouls and witches and wizards.
The main children’s event is the haunted Halloween trail along which children and their families are led by guides with costumed characters.
Families must purchase tickets for a particular time slot to tour the trail with tours setting off from 4pm through to 7 pm. A whole host of Halloween activities will run continuously from 4pm to 8pm and tickets for the Ballyhoura Spook, costing €5 per child, must be booked in advance for what will be on of the year’s best children’s festivals.

The event will see riders take to the woods for a 30 km day time stretch followed by a daunting 10 km night time trial through the forest,
alive with creatures of the night.
The races will start from the MTB Centre, a nationally renowned centre for mountain-biking, and head out into the deepest depths of the Ballyhoura Forest.
The night time trial will have bikers in costume setting off at speed every 30 seconds in what promises to be a great spectacle of colour and mountain bike skills.
